The ICU is currently seeking people for the positions of men and womens team captain for the forthcoming 2012 Chess Olympiad to be held in Istanbul, Turkey. The dates of the event are August 27th September 10th 2012. The olympiad organizers provide free board and lodging, and the ICU will pay for most if not all of your air fare.
Successful candidates for the position of men and womens team captain should ideally have a valid passport with which to travel to Turkey, a keen interest in, and some experience of international chess, good communication skills, familiarity with the Fide rules of chess. Some expertise or knowledge of modern chess preparation methods and programs such as Chessbase, Chess Assistant would be a bonus, especially for the women's team captain.
