Olympiad Team Captains: Do you have the X-Factor?

The ICU is currently seeking people for the positions of men and women’s team captain for the forthcoming 2012 Chess Olympiad to be held in Istanbul, Turkey. The dates of the event are August 27th – September 10th 2012. The olympiad organizers provide free board and lodging, and the ICU will pay for most if not all of your air fare.

Successful candidates for the position of men and women’s team captain should ideally have a valid passport with which to travel to Turkey, a keen interest in, and some experience of international chess, good communication skills, familiarity with the Fide rules of chess. Some expertise or knowledge of modern chess preparation methods and programs such as Chessbase, Chess Assistant would be a bonus, especially for the women's team captain.

All those interested should contact the ICU selection committee Chairman by email before the 13th of April. A decision will be made and announced by the ICU executive no later than April 30th.
