European Swop-Chess Tournament Milan

The ICU have just been offered a "wildcard entry" for two Irish players to compete in the first ever European swop-chess tournament in Milan, Italy on Sunday 16th November 2014. Notwithstanding the short notice, its still possible to get a return flight from Dublin to Italy for around €100 Euro. The tournament is in a city centre hotel and the organisers are offering rooms at 55 Euro per night for a double or a single room.

There is considerable prize money of over 10,000 Euro.

If there are players interested in taking up this wildcard entry, please email your expression of interest to by 9 pm on Sunday 9th November 2014. Only one wild-card entry can be accepted, so if there are more than two players interested, selections will be made by drawing lots. Please note that any players taking up this wildcard entry will have to meet the expenses involved themselves.

Mark Quinn I.M., who has notified the ICU of the wildcard entry offer will be happy to advise anybody entering the tournament on travel arrangements to Milan and within the City as he is very familiar with the area and speaks fluent Italian.
