The ICU invites applications for the positions of Men's and Women'’s team captains for the forthcoming 2016 Chess Olympiad to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The dates of the event are September 1st to– September 14th 2016. The Olympiad organizers provide free board and lodging, and the ICU will pay a contribution towards the flights that will cover most of the cost.

Successful candidates should have a valid passport with which to travel, a keen interest in, and some experience of international Chess, good communication skills and familiarity with the FIDE laws of chess and general regulations. Some expertise or knowledge of modern chess preparation methods and programs such as Chessbase, Chess Assistant would be a bonus, especially for the women's team captain.
