New Junior Referral Offer

John McMorrow

  1. A Referrer is defined as a person, club or organisation who signs up at least 20 new junior members in one season (where seasons run from September to August). If the referrer is a person, they must be a current member of the ICU. If the referrer is a club, they must be recognised on the ICU clubs page.

  2. A Referrer receives 50% of the new junior member fees for those they sign up.

  3. Payments are made between August 15th-31st at the end of each season. Referrer must provide transfer details prior to that date.

  4. The ICU will publish an updated list of top referrers.

  5. The "Referrer" must be referenced when the junior is signing up.

New Junior Referral Offer

It is hoped that this offer will increase the number of junior members by offering an incentive to our top coaches, teachers and clubs to register their students themselves. We hope that the list will also encourage Ireland's best coaches/teachers to compete to see who can be Ireland's top referrer year in and year out. Not to mention, encourage more juniors to seek out these clubs, coaches and teachers. We hope that coaches/teachers will use these funds to develop their chess programs and upgrade/expand their equipment supplies.

The program will be reviewed at the start of each season to explore improvements and the effectiveness of the scheme - and allow incoming committees the right to approve its continuation. The ICU reserves the right to make changes to the scheme if any short-term unforeseen issues arise.
