The Irish Chess Union is the governing body of chess in Ireland. It administers the game on a national basis and is a member of FIDE, the International Chess Federation. Membership of the Irish Chess Union entitles a player to enter tournaments and leagues, to have their games rated and to create/maintain an account on the ICU web site (icu.ie). In addition they are entitled to attend and vote (age 16 and over) at general meetings of the Union.
Players may join the Irish Chess Union by sending the complete form to the ICU membership officer as indicated below, or directly by applying to an ICU official at weekend tournaments, or online at www.icu.ie. Subscribing online is the recommended method.
Donations to support Junior Chess are most welcome, and can be submitted with this membership entry form.
