Passed Motions

• If any elected member of the executive, in the opinion of the majority of the other members of the ICU Excutive, shall not have fulfilled his or her duties, that member shall, at the discretion of the executive, be deprived of their positione (Bernard Palmer).
• A Code of Ethics for Chessplayers be established by the ICU executive (Mark Quinn).
• Players should not be exluded from playing in ICU tournaments or leagues solely on the basis of the geographical area in which they live (Rory Quinn).
• Only an authorised person or persons with permission from the tournament director and the players involved may take photographs, film or record players at any chess event. No photographs, films or recordings should be made of players aged under 18 years without the prior consent of a parent or legal guardian (Simon Jeffares).

Failed Motions

• All Irish Chess Union subscriptions to be raised by 5 Euro.
• Players participating in an Irish Chess Union rated tournament must have a current established chess rating from one of the following bodies: Chess Scotland, English Chess Federation, FIDE, Irish Chess Union, Ulster Chess Union, Welsh Chess Union. Any other player can win a maximum 25% of any money prize unless playing in an Open tournament and such players cannot win any grading prize money in any tournament.

Other decisions

• A fund should be created for tournament controllers to apply for grants from the ICU to help in the running of their tournaments.
• The executive should consider paying someone to publish the journal in the future.
• In AOB it was raised that some players had problems with not being on the rating list even though they had paid there fees. A better system of dealing with membership forms should be devised.
