It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Walter Fitzgibbon. He was one of the founding fathers of Cork Chess Club, who coached many of Cork's best players. He was a member of several other Irish clubs over the years and the ICU would like to extend our deepest sympathies to all that knew him including family and friends on and away from the chess board.
