It’s with great regret that the ICU announce the sudden passing of Pat Hayes, the president of the Limerick Chess Club since 1995, and a well known Chess figure in the region since the 1960s. Pat won the North Munster Chess Championship in 1969 and as recently as 1999 he won the Bunratty Major.
