Irish Women’s Chess Festival
This event is part of the Irish Women’s Chess Festival 2026. Players who do not qualify by rating are welcome to join a variety of other events suitable for all ages and levels.

- Rounds: 7 Swiss pairings; round robin format if insufficient entries
- Time Control: 90+30
- Rating: 1600+ ICU (see full eligibility requirements below)
- Default Time: 30 minutes
- Entry Fee: 50€ / 40€
- Prize Fund: 700€

The winner of this section will be declared the Irish Women’s Champion 2026 and will earn a guaranteed place on the Irish Women’s team for the 2028 Chess Olympiad, subject to meeting all additional eligibility and activity requirements.

Eligibility
Players must be registered with FIDE under the Irish federation (IRL) and fufil either (i) or (ii) of the adult eligibility criteria. Full details here.
Rating eligibility is based on your published rating at any point between opening of registration and October 2026. Players who do not meet these criteria may be considered upon request, subject to the organizer’s approval.
