The Greystones Summer Chess Sessions are back! This FREE activity takes place every Sunday in August 2026.

Time: 10am-12pm. Come and go as you please.

Location: Southwest Corner, Burnaby Park, Greystones, Co. Wicklow.

Amenities nearby: Library, coffee shops, restaurants, beaches & more.

Public Transport: Greystones Railway Station is a 3 minute walk. Buses include the L1, L2 & L3.

Parking: Ample paid parking is available nearby (one minute walk). The closest free parking is Greystones Park & Ride (ten minute walk).

Suitable for all ages - beginner to expert. Families are welcome. However supervision of children is not provided.

There is a learn the rules of chess session from 10am - 10.30am. As this is an outdoor activity, please dress accordingly for the weather. Equipment is provided.

Special thanks to Wicklow County Council who installed four outdoor chess tables in the Burnaby Park. The chess tables are wheelchair friendly.
