The Irish Chess Union

Greystones Chess Academy is returning on Wednesday, September 16th, 2026.

The term will run for ten sessions. There are two sections:

Beginners: 5pm – 6.15pm

Suitable for players aged 6-12 who are new to chess, or have limited experience. The first lesson is the rules of chess.

Intermediate to Advanced: 5.30pm – 7pm.

Suitable for more experienced chess players aged 7-14. Elo rating strength should be 800 – 1600 or have attended a Chess Moves school programme before.

Each session will have coaching and game time. Players will require a board and set. Chess Moves can supply this.
