Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the President of FIDE, will be in Dublin later this week, to meet with members of the ICU Executive about the forthcoming FIDE elections. This is only the second time a FIDE President has been in Ireland, as far as we know; previously Max Euwe was here in 1972. Unfortunately, Mr Ilyumzhinov's stay has turned out to be too short for us to arrange for him to meet ICU members socially.
