Entry is free to all Irish IMs and our only GM. There are good indications that the current champion Sam Collins will be defending his title (to be confirmed soon). With the likely or very likely participation of many of Ireland's top players, including multiple former title holders Stephen Brady, Colm Daly and one of the top rising stars of Irish chess, David Fitzsimons who is now one of just five Irish players to have a fide rating over 2400.
Update June 22: The event looks set to have the following players among the playing field this year David Fitzsimons, Stephen Jessell, Stephen Brady, Colm Daly, Phillip Short, Conor O Donnell, John Redmond, and possibly defending champion Sam Collins.
