January will be a busy time for chess in Munster with three tournaments taking place. First up is the Limerick Monthly Rapidplay at the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel on the 14th, the following weekend from the 19th to 21st sees the Mulcahy Memorial in UCC, Cork and finally the Munster Junior Championships are being held in the University of Limerick on the 27th and 28th.
