The new season starts on 1st September 2007 and if you're thinking of (re-)joining the ICU then we strongly recommend you pay your subscription online, as it could save you, and the volunteers who help run the ICU, a lot of hassle. The transaction is logged, the payment is deposited in a bank account, your rating is cleared for publication and an email confirmation is sent out, all within a few seconds.
In contrast, when a cheque is sent by post a lot of effort by various people (membership officer, treasurer, rating officer) is required to achieve the same result, the process may take weeks to complete and mistakes sometimes get made. So, unless the thought of the membership officer struggling through the rain to deposit your cheque in the local AIB branch fills you with glee, or the excitement of not knowing whether you'll get an acknowledgement is something you crave, then please fire up your web browser and put away the postage stamps.
If you don't have a computer, an email address or a suitable credit card for the online payment service used by the ICU (PayPal), then why not get a friend or your club to subscribe for you?
