The 11th Annual Bray Rapidplay took place on June 18th 2005 at the Esplanade Hotel, Strand Road, Bray with 70 players participating. 1st Stephen Brady 5½/6; 2nd-7th Colm Daly, Joe Ryan, Gerry O'Connell, Simon Jeffares, Karl McPhillips, Gerard MacElligott 5/6; grading prize U-1800 Stephen Stokes (1434) 3½/6; grading prize U-1300 Mervyn Honner (1281) 3½/6; David v Goliath Colin Byford (1713) 1-0 Karl McPhillips (2199). Medals to Steven Hanly, Alasdair Walsh, Ryan Rhys Griffiths, Robert White, William Brennan. Prizes were awarded by Mildred Fox TD who spoke on efforts to have chess recognised as a sport at the closing ceremony. Final Crosstable.
