St Benildus Chess Club will hold their annual Christmas Charity blitz at the club on Wednesday 16 January. Round robin groups of eight followed by a straight knock out, with staggered time controls depending on rating differences. Registration from 7:15. Entry fees: 10 adults, 5 students and OAPs. All monies will go to the Simon Community and the Samaritans. There will also be numerous spot prizes throughout the night (feel free to donate your own). Boards and sets provided, clocks will likely be in short supply, so bring one if you can.
