Mark Orr has been selected as the Captain of the Irish ladies team for the 2006 Olympiad. He has also been chosen to act as head of delegation.
Joel Benjamin has tentatively accepted the position of Captain of the Irish men's team for the 2006 Olympiad - to be confirmed later.
Clive Hutchby, from Sligo, has been selected as the new PRO for the Irish Chess Union. Clive brings a wealth of journalistic experience with him and has worked in the UK, USA and Ireland.
Reminder: All candidates hoping to play for Ireland in 2006, must have paid and registered for this season with the ICU, before 1-Jan-2006. This applies to Junior and Senior players alike.
