Alex Baburin has won the prestigious Galway Congress trophy on tie-break from Vladimir Sveshnikov. Third equal were Valentine Kalinins and Mel Ó Cinnéide. Grading prize winners were Conor O’Donell, David Murray, Gordon Freeman, Don Short, Ciaran Quinn, Stephen Short and Orison Carlile, whilst the new Connaught Champion is Philip Short.

Joint winners of the Majors were Conall Hegarty, Pat McMahon and Minugas Janusaitis, with grading prizes to John McMahon, Paul Ward, Eoin Connolly and Anton Kalininchenko.

The Minors was won by Mihailo Manojlovic, with a stunning 6/6. Second was Anastasija Manojlovic on 5½, and third equal Arran Bolger and Stephen Li. Grading prizes went to Joseph Carthy, Alex Start, Robbie Kildea, Alex Byrne, Jonathon Peoples, Theo Bowyer, Eamonn Richardson and Carlos Silva.
