The Cork Senior Championship for the famous Plunkett Cup is back for the 1st time since 1992.

(incorporating the Cork Intermediate Championship for the Michael Bradley Trophy)
The title is being inaugurated in memory of Cork Chess Club Captain and former Chairperson Michael Bradley who contributed so much to chess in Cork and Munster who passed away suddenly in 2025.

- The highest placed eligible player in the Cork Intermediate Championship:
- awarded the title of Cork Intermediate Champion.
- receive an automatic invitation to participate in the next Cork Senior Championship for the Plunkett Trophy.
- awarded the title of Cork Intermediate Champion.
Eligibility
The Cork Senior Championship and the the Cork Intermediate Championship can only be won by players who are either:
- born in Cork and/or
- resident in Cork for at least 6 months prior to the 1st day of the tournament
