The annual St. Benildus Christmas Charity Blitz will be at the slightly later date of Wednesday 1 February this year. Registration is from 7:15, with entries taken till about 8pm; entry is 12 adults, 6 students/unemployed/retired. As always, all proceeds will go towards the Simon Community and the Samaritans, so if you want to donate extra or bring a spot prize, feel free. The tournament is a blitz handicap, with time controls varying from 5v5 to 8v2 depending on rating differences. All-play-all groups of 8 are followed by knock-out quarter-finals. Plenty of spot prizes to be won as well. As per usual, sets will be provided, but bring a clock if you can - we're often short!
