The O'Connell Cup (Novices League) run by the Leinster Chess Union (LCU) was completed on 12th May with 5 teams competing for the trophy. It was won by Elm Mount who had 5 wins and 2 draws in their 7 matches remaining unbeaten. Bray/Greystones finished as runners up, Portmarnock in 3rd place, Naomh Barrog 4th and Ballinasloe 5th.
