Three Irish success stories from strong international tournaments taking place at the same time as the Irish Championships: In the Championnat de Paris 18 year old Ryan Griffiths (current FIDE rating 2326) put in a 2526 performance, came 10th out of 63 (including 7 GMs) and had wins over 2 IMs and draws against 2 GMs. Meanwhile in the Scottish Championships 13 year old Conor O'Donnell (current rating 1939) had a 2203 tournament performance, came 59th out of 115 (including 10 GMs) and beat a WFM and a GM (Arakhamia-Grant, the new Scottish Champion). 13 year old Ronan Magee (current rating 1965) also had a good result with a 2098 performance and 58th place.
