The expenditure incurred by your Union this year was dominated by the following items totallying €18,341:

  1. €7,000 Glorney Cup
  2. €5,044 Support for Congresses
  3. €4,110 Training
  4. €2,187 FIDE Costs

This represents 71% of members fees while the surplus of €5,818 is equivalent to 23% of expenditure.

The Irish Championship was run at a net cost to the Union of €2,000 having been generously supported by Island Oil & Gas. We are actively seeking an alternative sponsor for the 2010 event and would like to thank Island Oil & Gas for their support over the past three years.

There will be an Olympiad next which will cost approximately €4,000 while the Glorney expenses should cost about €7000.

The outlook for 2010 is bleak in financial terms and we may have difficulty in repeating the €4110 spend on training this year.
