21 tournaments were rated in the January list, including the Khanty Mansiysk Olympiad and 5 other foreign tournaments. At the time of publication there were 617 current members of the ICU (518 with full ratings, 60 with provisional ratings and 39 with no ratings).

As often happens in January, the first publication of the rating list acts as a reminder to many folks that they've forgotten to pay their annual subscription (which, by the way runs from Sep-Aug and not Jan-Dec as some seem to believe). So this list was republished on: Jan 17 (529 full, 63 provisional), Jan 19 (537, 64), Jan 22 (559, 69), Jan 27 (565, 71), Jan 30 (580, 73), Feb 1 (582, 76), Mar 5 (663, 90).

The next ICU list will be around mid-May.
