Applications for Title of Academy Instructor

For a limited period (to 1 September 2012) direct applications will be accepted for this title.

Applicants should demonstrate (and, if asked, prove):

  1. 5 years extensive and successful training activity in Ireland;
  2. A career top playing strength of at least 1900.
  3. Experience of tournament organization.
  4. Experience as arbiter.
  5. Publications (books, articles, reports or web site).

The acceptance procedure will focus on items 1 & 2. Items 3, 4 & 5 are facultative and applicants will be expected to have at least some experience in one or more of these areas. (Just to clarify, 4.75 years experience, or a peak rating of mid 1800s would not preclude, nor, probably, jeopardize an application. Applications will be considered individually).

Applications will be considered by the ICU-TRG Board, the three members (Kevin O'Connell, Darko Polimac and Pete Morriss) of which will conduct a ballot (Yes = 30 * Abstain = 10 * No = 0), a score of 50 being needed for acceptance. If the application fails, the Club Instructor or, if deemed more appropriate, the School Instructor title may be awarded. The applicant is obliged to accept this procedure.
