Tournament controllers should email results to the ICU rating officer () in one of the supported formats. The player data should include ICU numbers (where known). If possible, results should be sent well before the publication of each rating list to allow time to deal with any problems which may arise (errors, duplicates, ambiguities, etc).

The supported formats are:

• SwissPerfect
• Krause

The ICU rating list is published three times a season around the middle of each of the following months:

• January
• May
• September

If the controller would like the tournament rated by FIDE there are additional steps to follow.
