This year the world championships, which take place in Porto Carras Resort, Halidiki Greece October 19-31st, are at the same time as the mid-term break, so only a few days of school will be missed by juniors attending. We are therefore hoping to send a full squad. Junior selection is purely on the basis of rating, so the highest rated player in each age group will be contacted shortly. If they are unavailable the place will be offered to the second highest and on down the list.

One boy and one girl in each age group gets free accommodation. The age groups are U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, with a girls and boys section in each age group. The ICU will cover their entry fee and registration fee.

We will be sending a coach.

Cost for accommodation for accompanying persons and additional players per day: €59 FB sharing triple rooom, €68 FB sharing double room, €89 FB single room.

Cost of flights must be covered by the child's family. Should be under €300 return, e.g. flying Dublin-Gatwick, Gatwick-Thessalonica flying Ryanair and Easyjet, Skyscanner gives a price of €262 return. There are many options via European airports as well.
